NERA VALLEY AND PIEDILUCO LAKE
Our farmhouse is located between the Nera Valley, an enchanting valley where the Nera river flows, and the picturesque Piediluco Lake. The first one is known with the name of “Valnerina” and is dominated by the famous Marmore Falls, the tallest waterfall of Europa. A lush valley, surrounding by medieval villages that can bring you back in time. The second one is a fabled lake with a wonderful view of the Terminillo Mounts.
Ten minutes far from our accomodation, you can find the ancient Summer site of Roman Empire, known with the name of “Carsulae”. This archeological site includes the ruins of an ancient roman city with a triumph arch, a theather and many streets. During the Summer, it hosts musical and artistic events, in addiction to the many archeologists that continue their research about the past of the site with their excavating.
Known in the past with the appellation of “Narnia”, with its Augustus Bridge (27 a.c), the majestic Albornoz Fortress and the many churches. And obviously the famous Narni Underground. The atmosphere that you can feel here is the medieval one, particularly present and suggestive during the historical reenactment of the event “La Corsa all’Anello”, every year at the end of April.
